Day 22: Favourite Book You Own

Well...this is going to sound lazy, but I already own all of my favouirte books and series. So, basically, them. I really don't have more to say than that. Its what happens when you're a horrible book packrat, and rarely donate, sell or throw away any of your books.

I have nothing more to add. Console yourself with the concept of kittens.

I don't know about anyone else, but I love football. The Bears have had a losing streak and of course lost today (and also one of their key offensive players was sent to the hospital during first quarter). I actually curled up and cried a little. The only thing making the disappointment a little less bitter is reading LotR and the fact that Mark is starting it tomorrow. Jesus Christ my heart hurts.

Before, I wondered about the pros and cons of Mark separating his books and tv reviews on different sites. But considering how overloaded Watches was with Buffy on the old server, who knows what would happen if both Buffy and LotR were held on the same site and same server.

Hey everybody, here's a link to a Buffy the Vampire Slayer race swap cast!

spoilers for future Buffy characters at the link and probably in any replies

Buffy Race Swap Casting

I think these are pretty excellent. My favorites are Joyce, Giles, Fcvxr, Unezbal, Qehfvyyn.

A couple that made me go "hmm" are the choices for the Master and Nqnz.

Any thoughts?

Oh hey, question for y'all: Am I allowed to call him The Annoying One in Tuesday's comments, now that he's actually been annoying? Or do I have to wait until Spike uses the actual nickname? Because THAT'S ALL THE WAY IN SEASON TWO. I don't know if I can take it.

LotR later today!!! In celebration---track 09 of FotR Many Meetings! :D (sometimes it literally just gets stuck in my head and is one of my favorite LotR tracks)

Has anyone noticed that Mark hasn't had any "stray thoughts" about Buffy? Has he just decided not to do them anymore? Or does he simply not have any stray thoughts about Buffy so far?

"The Zeppo". Now that was an unusual episode. And a really good one.
LOTR and Buffy !! Can you imagine the liveblogs for the films? There is going to be a Doctor Who Christmas special, Sherlock begins in January and Korra is also starting in 2012. This is going to be so much fun :D

Saw this on tumblr today

On a lighter note, I had clean forgotten about that funny little exchange between Frodo and Merry as they send the Sackville-Bagginses away, and now I'm kinda sad it wasn't in the movie. I COULD TOTALLY HEAR IT IN ELIJAH WOOD AND DOMINIC MONAGHAN'S VOICES WHEN I REREAD IT. It was glorious.

Day 21: Favourite Book From My Childhood

Poor day 21. I almost forgot about you. Thankfully, all the others pay much more attention than me. XD

I've already spoken about how some of my favourite books are the ones from my childhood, and how the nostalgia factor makes them like a warm blanket. However, considering how much we've talked about them, I think I'll go even father back into my childhood. Like the picture book stage.

One of my favourites was a collection of Dr. Seuss books I had. There were all sorts of stories in there- a woman who named all her kids Dave, two people who wouldn't move around each other, and the one which terrified me the most, the Pants With No One Inside Them. My favourite was always the first one, The Sneetches, though. Could the plain belly Sneetches prove they were just as good with the Sneetches with Stars Upon Thar's? (Huh, even at that age, I liked stories about overcoming prejudice.)

Let's see...I also really adored Franklin, stories about an anthropomorphic turtle. Madeline, the French orphan was also a classic. Oooh, and has anyone read Robert Munch? The majority of his things were comedy, like "the Paper Bag Princess", but then there was this really heartbreaking/warming one called "As Long As I Live". All the tears.

I know that everyone is excited for the "Angel" review... but I am actually more excited about the "I, Robot" review because I think it will be hilarious. One of the most dated episodes of Buffy EVER, oh lord.

THIS LEETKEY IS AMAZING MY LIFE IS SO MUCH EASIER.
Lessons From Buffy: Always be careful about who you talk to online. They might turn out to be an evil demon.

(...well, in the Buffy-verse, everybody and their dog could be an evil demon, but still).

Day 23: A Book You've Wanted To Read For A Long Time, But Still Haven't

Hmm. Let's see. Usually when I really want to read a book, I pick it up as soon as I can, so there aren't that many.

I've been meaning to read "A Long Dark Teatime for the Soul" by Douglas Adams, but its a difficult book to track down. I eventually found a version, but I don't think its very legitimite, since every single sentence has spelling and grammatical errors. My poor eyes just can't take it. I want to enjoy Adams' witty prose, not decode the mistakes in my head.

I've had Sherlock Holmes sitting on my Kindle for the longest time. I have really close friends who love everything about the guy, and I've certainly picked up a lot...I know I should read them, and want to on some level, but I'm just really not that into Victorian literature.

Also, "Snuff", the newest Discworld novel. Not sure if that's been long enough though.

How do I post an image? I did everything right but when I post the comment it comes up entirely blank. A poster for Buffy fixed my last one for me and said photobucket doesn't like direct links---but what do I do?

I need this ability ASAP.

OKAY WHO DELETED THE COMMENT THREAD FROM HELL I LOVE YOU FOREVER

because, to borrow a typo of Mark's, sweet summer christ I did not want to deal with the comment from "Jess" that I found in my inbox this morning. Mark emailed me back to ask how bad it was since he couldn't see it on his phone, I'm wondering if he saw it before it went bye-bye. Possibly he deleted the whole thing himself, I dunno.
