(I have to say, I'm really glad he rejected Axis Powers Hetalia. I have had some negative as hell experiences with that fandom too, most particularly with an ex-friend whose descent into total horrific general assholery coincided with their interest in that series, SO. I am ridiculously biased against it without ever having read/watched it.)

So, the choir where I sing is having a concert this Thursday - we're singing the complete "Messiah" by G. F. Händel. I'm a bit nervous, because it's a pretty tough piece, but I'm fairly confident that we'll do fine. If we're successful, then there's a possibility for us to go and perform it in London with the Royal Choral Society (we've already cooperated with them on Rachmaninov's "Vespers" on a music festival here in Slovakia, two years ago). So wish me luck, guys! :D

Sorry for the lack of post, yesterday. I was having some internet troubles until the evening, and I thought it would be better just to save it for day.
But, right, then. Male character. I'm gonna need to go into list mode for this!
- Sirius Black and Remus Lupin. I really love these two characters. Lupin is one of the best responsible role models I've seen in fiction, kind and patient, but still human and flawed; he cares about what people thinks of him, even at the expense of others. And then there's the loyal and tortured Sirius Black, who suffered for a crime he didn't commit. I always loved their friendship, and how many times it made me rethink right and wrong.
- Briar Moss (the Circle of Magic). This boy is awesome. Taken off the streets, he's very self-centered, scoffs at everything, and isn't used to having friends, but then we get to see him grow and develop. I think so much about him is encapsulated in his name. He wanted to be called Moss, because it was kind and pretty, but didn't think he could have a sissy name, so asked for the names of plants with thorns.
- Carrot, Sam Vimes and Death, from Discworld. (Can Death even have a gender? I suppose its all part of the anthropomorphic part). I'm sorry, I really couldn't chose just one. Death is so sweet and awkward. Carrot is just such a ball of contradictions; sweet and a little bit thick, but this undercurrent of "maybe not" running through him. And Vimes is pure badass.
- Percy Jackson, from Percy Jackson and the Olympians. There are a lot of things I could tell you about his character, from the kind nature, to his cleverness, but I'm gonna settle for his snarkiness. He is unable to go a sentence without a wry comment.

SO MANY TOUGH QUESTIONS! Who chose to do this? Oh, right, we did.
Okay, from Harry Potter, I'll probably have to choose Hermione. She was such a role model for me growing up. She was brave, loyal and smart. I was so much like her in class, its ridiculus; my hand was constantly flying up. What can I say? Its so annoying when a teacher asks a question, and no one answers it, and there's an awkward silence....I had to.
From Discworld, I'd probably say Granny Weatherwax, but Angua is a close second. They're both so strong!
Katniss from the Hunger Games for just being awesome. She's got real strengths, real flaws- one of the best female characters I've encountered in a while.
From Peirce's work, I'd probably have to go for either Beka Cooper, for playing one of the most brilliant no-nonsense cops ever, or Rosethorn, who's just as prickly as she sounds. One time her student said that her name fit her, as someone sharp with sweetness underneath, and she whacked him for being overly romantic. XD

Giles: For as long as there have been vampires, there has been the Slayer. One girl in all the world, a Chosen One...
Buffy: He loves doing this part.
Giles: Alright. The Slayer hunts vampires, Buffy is a Slayer, don't tell anyone. Well, I think that's all the vampire information you need.
Xander: This is just too much. I mean, yesterday my life's like, 'Uh-oh, pop quiz.' Today it's 'Rain of Toads'.
Willow: I know. And everyone else thinks it's just a normal day.
Xander: Nobody knows. It's like we've got this big secret.
Willow: We do. That's what a secret is, when you know something other guys don't.
