Spoilers, Sweetie - Conpiracy Theories and Guesses

As this week's major news was the trailers that got posted up as they were released, I don't really have anything for this week.

Luckily for us, Hypatia came up with a brilliant idea! What do YOU think is going to happen this season based on the trailers and the prequel?

In case you missed them, here are the trailers!

BBC

Extended BBC America

So what do you think is going to happen this season?

Actual predictions based on actual logic:
1) This will be Amy and Rory's last season as full-time companions. They will most likely leave the TARDIS by choice, possibly due to pregnancy on Amy's part.
2) We'll discover who built The Lodger TARDIS, and it will because or related to a Time Lady. (Romana, the Rani or Susan.)
3) On a similar note, I think we'll see 9/10's TARDIS or its likeness again, and the companions will learn more about the Doctor's past.
4) We'll discover who River killed, but there will be a twist to it. Maybe she'll 'kill' the Doctor, but since we know Eleven isn't regenerating, it'll be a fake death. Or it won't be a literal death (maybe the death of someone fob-watched), or maybe Captain Jack Harkness.
5) That one episode with the ood will have something about making your inner nightmares come true.

Silly Suggestions:
1) River is Captain Jack Harkness. Why? "That's when everything changes," is obviously Torchwood, they were born in the same century, they have the same square-ness gun, and they both like to flirt. And come on, Jack would totally love that hallucinogenic lipstick.

Based on the biggest possible spoiler I know, which was someone on Tumblr saying, "If JFK is the good man River kills, Doctor Who will have officially jumped the shark" which I accidentally saw and couldn't erase from my memory, I think I've decoded the plot resolution for that episode. (Assuming the person who said that wasn't an epileptic tree).

Basically, they find and detain/kill/disrupt the person who originally killed JFK or is lead to be assumed to have killed JFK from killing JFK and River shoots him to stabilize the fixed point in time.

This is based on the fact that A) Moffat would never allow Doctor Who to jump the shark, as he demonstrated with an actual flying shark sleight ride on Christmas in Steampunkville with Dumbledore and an opera singer and made it work FLAWLESSLY, despite the dissenters, and B) River wouldn't just kill JFK for the lulz, so it's probably a very dark moment indeed.

These are all totally random and I have no reason to actually bet on them happening, just random thoughts:
The clown thing will be more than just one episode, and if not a multiple episode arc then at least a two parter.
They will somehow re write time in a way that makes major changes to earth's history, while still making it recognisable. They will then have to fix this. Alternatively they will enter another parrallel (not Pete's World) for a short period of time.
River's kiss with the doctor probably isn't a *real* kiss. It will be the first time River meets the Doctor and he will find out who she is/what she did.
The orangey light we saw in ten's tardis isn't a regeneration.
Amy having to be found will be something along the lines of Ten sending Martha to walk the world and save the day, but it will result in her being out of the loop and getting something wrong, so she kills the wrong alien/ person.
Never gonna happen but would be interesting: Rory stays on as a companion at the end of the series, but Amy dies/leaves/ disappears or something.
1, River will take Amy and Rory off on a trip, which we won't see, long enough for the Doctor to grow a beard.
2. We will find out what happened to the missing 18 minutes on Nixon's tapes.
3. The Doctor will force Nixon to resign.
4. It turns out that Nixon wasn't REALLY bad, he was doing what he thought was right, etc.
5. The sad clown with the red balloon is the Doctor.
6. The Doctor's wife is a trap.
7. The slenderman aliens will give me nightmares.
8. Rory will wear lots of awesome vests.
9. River killed an evil future incarnation of the Doctor.
10. The Silence storyline will be long and complicated.
I'm just going to do the obvious ones cause I'm terrible at predicting Doctor Who:
1) There will be more River and we'll finally get to learn who the heck she is. I'm betting she's not a wife.
2) The Doctor will be in America and from the looks of it in the desert as well as the White House? I'm all for this BTW.
3)Amy and Rory will leave. Which makes me a sad panda. Hopefully it does not go down like people have been predicting with Rory getting jealous and what not because that's just a horrible idea. I'm hoping for something more along the lines of Martha leaving with both of them thanking him for all he's done and then them popping up occasionally the season after.
4)James Gordan comes on as a companion. All though after watching The Lodger I'm not at all sure about this seeing as how he's all into Sophie and not into traveling. Hopefully there will be a good explanation (that doesn't include she dumped him).
5)Moffat blows us away with the Silence storyline and River storyline. There will be lots of key smashing and WTF Gifs over at Mark Watches.

I don't actually like to speculate too much, so I'll just propose some crack theories.

1. The Doctor's wife is actually his midwife. Yes, Eleven gets pregnant. That's what I'm going with.

2. The lensflares that kept popping up in S5 were actually caused by a mysterious new alien species.

3. River helps dye the Doctor's hair red, and that's when he tells her his name.
3a. River's identity is that she's the hairdresser for all future incarnations of the Doctor. Dude loves his hair.

Okay, one real guess:
River Song is just River Song. She's not the Rani, or Jenny, or Susan, or the TARDIS, or related to the Doctor, etc.

Hmmm...ironically enough, given that this was my idea, I am also bad at speculations! However, here are my guesses:

1. We will find out what the Silence is and it will give us nightmares.

2. We will find out who River Song is. As much as I enjoy theories about how she's Susan or the Rani or Romana or the Master or someone else we know, I think she's probably just herself, but extremely significant in her own right. I also think she's probably not actually the Doctor's wife, because they've been hinting at that left and right. Whatever she really is, it will be a shock, because Moffat is evil.

3. We will find out who she killed. Again, I think it probably wasn't the Doctor, or it was the Doctor, but there's some sort of massive twist. I'm almost sure she doesn't kill him for good, because they've been dropping massive hints about her being the Doctor's killer as well, and again, Moffat is evil. No doubt it will be something unexpected.

4. Amy and Rory will leave the TARDIS at the end of the series, because companions just don't last that long in the new series. I will go ahead and predict that they'll leave of their own volition, and that they will not be dead or unduly traumatized or mindwiped or anything. They leave because they decide they want to. I say this because I adore Amy and Rory and will be very very sad if anything happens to them.

5. The episode(s) set in the US will feature a rather unnecessary amount of Americana (flags, bald eagles, people other than the Doctor wearing cowboy hats) in order to drive home the message that HEY LOOK AT US, WE'RE IN AMERICA! Also, there will be bad American accents and it will be funny.

6. The mid-series cliffhanger will cause us all to be nervous wrecks for several months.

7. Amy's hair will continue to be fabulous, River Song will at some point wear a fantastic sexy dress, Rory will wear plaid at least every other episode, and the Doctor will acquire at least one other inappropriate piece of headwear (other than the cowboy hat he's wearing in the promos) or other ridiculous accessory which he will be loathe to abandon.

8. The TARDIS we see in the promos is either a) a wibbly-wobbly timey-wimey flashback sort of thing (look, I don't know, what I'm saying is it's actually Nine/Ten's TARDIS) or b) has something to do with the time machine thingy in "The Lodger".

9. We will see Captain Jack again (no we won't, but a girl can hope).

10. It will be epic.

Totally off-topic as per usual, but I just wanted to deliver a short, infuriating announcement:

Mark it, kids (no pun intended)- we have officially had our first "River is old, gross!" post on Mark Watches. TPO was such a lovely streak of comments, too. =(

My mind's still on River Song, so I needed to post something happy-making.

Here's Matt Smith being gorgeous. Enjoy.

1. Amy and Rory are in the coral TARDIS because they get stuck in some kind of time loop when the TARDIS breaks down. They end up going through multiple Doctors' TARDISES and they observe a past Doctor with whoever Idris is supposed to be, while the Doctor is also meeting her in real time. She will be someone that's been on the TARDIS before.
2. Eleven will find more new headwear (besides the stetson) to make cool.
3. We will have at least one new montage of previous Doctors and/or Companions (I love it when Moffat does this).
4. Amy will be separated from the Doctor for multiple episodes.
5. The kiss between River and the Doctor will be real.
5. There will be lots of timey-whimey stuff.
6. Whatever happens when the Doctor is in America will change our perceptions of Area 51, Nixon, and UFOs for good.
7. River knew Jack, but he will not return :(
8.River Song found out the Doctor's name when she was a young archeologist.
9. River will say spoilers at least once.
10. Rory will be awesome.

Predictions, in decreasing order of reasonableness:

1. We will find out who River is. She will be herself, not somebody we already know in disguise, even though it would be nice to see some of those people again.

2. We will be introduced to a younger River, played by a different actress. This will give the production team more opportunities for jumping around inside her timeline. (If this does happen, there will almost certainly be flamewars about how the new actress stacks up in comparison to Alex Kingston.)

3. The little girl in the Nixon teaser is River when she was a little girl.
