The Great 30-Day Who MEME!!!! - Day Twenty-seven

What scene or moment made you go 'ARGH!?'

Source: We made this

This is another meme I'm going to decline to answer. Mostly because I think we've already talked about how annoying we find certain scenes. Instead, here's some videos to make you more happy as you recall those terrible memories of aggravation!

So what about you? What scene or moment makes you go ARGH!!!!?

Tomorrow: What is your favorite series arc?

The incredibly out-of-character moment where the Doctor lets Elliot go wander off for earphones and get taken purely for the sake of creating (or intensifying at this point) a dark overtone. This from the man who can't stand to see children cry. Not fucking likely.

The only real thing Chibnall's written in Doctor Who that made me think "what the hell Chibnall?!" The rest of THE/CB has a few irritations and just plain boredom.

Also, all of Love and Monsters. Just... all of it.

The thing that aggravates me the most is any time the Doctor is dismissive of Martha. Take her home tomorrow? WHATEVER!

Tough to pick just one. Ten wiping Donna's mind. Fortune teller in Turn Left. Any of Ten being a dick to Martha, pick one. Ten deification, pick one. Basically all of End of Time.

And to be fair, I generally dislike 'woman saves the day with her mystical female compassion' so also the way that Amy saves the day in Victory of the Daleks. But that was less 'argh' than an eyeroll.

Anway, here's some gifs.

So much of End of Time Part 1, as we saw from my review yesterday.

The end of Love & Monsters.

A lot of Martha's treatment, in particular that line in Sound of Drums where Ten compared the perception filter to being in love with someone who doesn't know you exist.

DobbyJesusDoctor.

The angel robots carrying Ten up through the fire in Voyage of the Damned.
Probably controversially:

The end of Flesh and Stone.

I don't mind Amy's flirtyness (actually, it's part of the reason I love her), but she came on a bit too strong here. I don't like imagining the Doctor having casual sex with companions, especially not one who's engaged. I actually felt physically uncomfortable watching that, and that was before I knew about the whole "STEVEN MOFFAT IS A DIRTY SEXIST" thing.

It didn't impede my enjoyment of the episode or my love of Amy in any way, but it just made me feel a bit... argh. Kid's show, Moffat!

I'm being angry at certain parts of humanity right now but I think the things that makes me go 'argh' the most in Doctor is the Doctor's treatment of Martha. While there are other things that people have already mentioned, I can try and forgive/dismiss some of them as one off mistakes or try and handwave them away but Martha's treatment is done purposely across the whole series and it really annoys me because Martha is a great character who doesn't deserve to be treated like that. Overall I generally enjoy 3 but everytime I rewatch there's always a part in nearly every episode where I just end up like this

I'm just glad Martha got to come back and show that they moved past all that and be her awesome self without any of that stuff.

Yeah this was a tough one, mostly because I wasn't sure what the "argh" was meant to represent. Was it supposed to be fear, frustration, revulsion or something else entirely? I'd struggle with answering all of those actually. So I'm going to take my cue from everyone else with my choice.

Ten's attitude to regeneration. Seriously man, you've been through this process HOW many times? Now granted I've only seen Seven and Nine's regenerations for myself (the others I've only seen clips from last years Doctor Who Proms) but I certainly don't remember either of them THROWING A TANTRUM because of what was about to happen to them. I doubt any of the previous nine actually wanted to change but they didn't make such a damn fuss about it.. I'll probably go into more detail about this whole thing on my comment for tonight's review (unless I forget or can't think of the right way to say it).

The end of Love and Monsters and their, ah, sex life.

I discovered yesterday that apparently I'm squeamish (I'm not) (but as another notch in my internet fame, I FOUND OUT I HAVE HATERS YAY), but the implications beyond just the Moaning Myrtle Blow Jobs are just.... distasteful.
