Mark Watches ‘Doctor Who’: Classic Who - Season 21 'The Caves of Androzani'

Over in the land of 'Watches' the review for 'The Caves of Androzani' is up.

There is a lack of spoilers (and links to the episode) below.

Since the BBC won't let me embed the videos here's links to all of the Caves of Androzani episodes for your viewing pleasure.

Episode 1
Episode 2
Episode 3
Episode 4

EDIT:
If the above don't work, here's some links blatantly stolen from maccyAkaMatthew's post.

And as I can't let a post go by without embedding something, here's a tribute video for Five that I rather liked. (Mostly for the music. Our fish need more Reel Big Fish in their lives.)

I wish Mark were watching this one later, as I'd like to see a few more Five episodes before I watch it myself. Ah well, I guess I'll go back and read his review once I do see it. XD

Image and video hosting by TinyPic Damn you BBC!!! Why don't you like me! (I do love the little frowny face.)

I watched it on the blinkbox link that maccyAkaMatthew posted the other day. It probably would've been nice to see more Five stories before this but I still enjoyed the episode. Although my notes are a bit weird because I kept missing or not knowing how to spell peoples names so they consist of arms guys, army, boss, mask guy and android people.

Because people seem at least mildly amused by my library stories, I give you Today in Weird Shit at Hypatia's Library.

Two unusual books crossed my desk today, two different copies of the same play about Abraham Lincoln, one printed in 1924, the other in 1938. Not unusual, except the first was in Welsh, the second in Gaelic. The question really isn't "Why do these exist at all (and who bothered to translate them)?" (though I ask myself that question at least three times a week), the question is, "What could the value of these books possibly be to the library of an anglophone university, in a francophone city, in Canada?" Other, of course, than to amuse easily distracted librarians.

Also, I had to go look up the correct subfield tags for Welsh and Gaelic, because that's nothing I've ever had to catalogue before.

Oh, nice! Luckily I found this ep with a quick search (I can't view bbc videos from my country OR hulu OR the daily show/colbert/comedy central videos and I'm sure a shit ton of other stuff) but it's nice to know I have other options. Too bad I don't have time to comment on it till tomorrow. But damn thanks so much for this, you rule, and keep it up.

Fuck yeah series 4 tomorrow!!

I've been thinking about this since I finished it, and honestly? Seeing Five's regeneration story and how he handled it makes me even less impressed with Ten's little temper tantrum in EoT part II. Which is quite a feat, let me tell you internets.

This post is mostly directed at E.L.S.O.S., but everyone else do weigh in if you think it's a good/bad idea.
Okay, so there's a Doctor Who meme that shows up a fair amount on tumblr and lj and the like, and it might be interesting if we did it too.

The meme:

Day 2 – Favourite Companion
Day 3 – Favourite Villain/Monster/Alien/Baddie of the Week
Day 4 – Favourite Character
Day 5 – Favourite Guest Star
Day 6 – Least Favourite Character
Day 7 – Favourite Episode
Day 8 – Favourite Series/Season
Day 9 – Least Favourite Episode
Day 10 – Favourite Scene/Moment
Day 11 – Scene/Moment that made you cry
Day 12 – Scene/Moment that makes you giggle
Day 13 – Favourite Era visited by The Doctor & Co.
Day 14 – Fave Doctor Moment
Day 15 – Fave Rose Moment
Day 16 – Fave Martha Moment
Day 17 – Fave Donna Moment
Day 18 – Fave Amy Moment
Day 19 – Favourite Ship
Day 20 – Prettiest Scene
Day 21 – Favourite Location
Day 22 – Something Silly
Day 23 – Something Epic
Day 24 – Favourite Accessory of the Doctor’s
Day 25 – Favourite TARDIS team
Day 26 – Scene/Moment that made you go ‘awww’
Day 27 – Scene/Moment that made you go ‘argh’
Day 28 – Favourite Series Arc
Day 29 – Favourite Music/Song
Day 30 – Why Do YOU Love Doctor Who

I don't know if we can time it with Mark so that we end when he's finished with S5 (especially since we don't know how many classic Who eps he's gonna watch), but still think it'd be a cool idea to do it on this blog, whether it's tacked on to the spoiler posts for Mark's reviews, or as separates posts.

I would suggest skipping day 6, though. Maybe day 9 also, but I think that's less likely to annoy people than day 6. So, if we're gonna do this, any suggestions for replacement topics?
