What is this gif from??
Community! Specifically, the season three episode "Remedial Chaos Theory".
General Check-In!

Just wanted to see how folks are doing. What are you listening to, watching, reading, playing? How are you feeling as winter approaches? Any projects you're working on or thinking of trying?

I am currently--

Watching: nothing at the moment, though I do want to rewatch Infinity Train's first season

Reading: The Storyteller by Dave Grohl

Playing: Animal Crossing: New Horizons/Happy Home Paradise (what other game boasts dlc that's basically an entire spinoff game within the game? I ASK YOU), Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity, technically still Skyward Sword even though I've not made progress in months...

Working on: a long fic that updates most Sundays, a story for an Age of Calamity Big Bang, my story for the Faces and Facades mask-themed Legend of Zelda zine, and a story for an Age of Calamity zine.
Right now I'm just pacing back and forth waiting for next week's premiere of the Wheel of Time series, and trying to ignore the increasingly bad situation at work (short version: gur yvoenel obneq vf znqr hc bs zbfgyl greevoyr crbcyr jub unir abj fperjrq bire yvgrenyyl n guveq bs bhe fgnss, jub ner svyvat sbezny tevrinaprf ntnvafg gurz naq gur pvgl naq ner pbafvqrevat ynjlrevat hc. Naq gurl'er cebonoyl evtug gb qb fb.)
Real life stuff (nothing triggering but ciphered just in case): Zl wbo ubhef unir orra fvtavsvnapgyl phg qbja; sebz 4-5 qnlf gb 2 qnlf n jrrx qhr gb zhpu ybjre phfgbzre ahzoref juvpu vf ernyyl sehfgengvat. V'z abg va nal gebhoyr svanapvny jvfr tvira gung V fgvyy yvir jvgu snzvyl ohg vg'f fnq gb frr zl jbex phg qbja yvxr gung.

Playing: Mass Effect trilogy (replay, currently almost done with ME2) and Hades (I've reached what I assume is the end fight twice now). Taking a break from FFXIV to keep a fresh mind for Endwalker next December though I'm tempted to get the Bozjan monk relic for glamour reasons.
Watching: Creepshow on Shudder, still watching horror movies every week (I've built up quite the library), random youtube things (DnD real play shows, SGS let's plays, That Chapter true crime videos)

Playing: FF14 (still working on e12s p2 with my static, getting closer! I finished leveling NIN, and I started in on gladiator/paladin), Darkest Dungeon 2, Hades, Borderlands 3, Overwatch

Real life stuff: I've actually made progress on my voiceover stuff. Built a PVC sound booth during the summer, participated in several seminars, recently got signed on with a company that produces audiobooks as one of their voice actors, and I'm in the midst of callbacks for a main role in a audiodrama podcast. I'm super excited and simultaneously freaking out because anxiety and depression suck. Yay therapy for helping me keep my head on straight lol
I LOOOOOVE Hades!!!! My first Roguelike, and god I enjoyed it so dang much.

Good luck on E12S! The Oracle will fall!

I'm alright! Work is killing me lately with some nurses quitting over vaccine mandates and us casuals having to fill the gaps and just the general chaos that's been a constant feature since 2020.

I was attempting nanowrimo but that sort of fizzled out when one of my cats got sick with a stomach bug and I stressed out for an entire week.

I've almost finished my Digimon Tamers rewatch! 13 episodes to go!

I reinstalled Animal Crossing again yesterday lol. I'm addicted all over again. I've also been playing Breath of Fire 3 on my psp (scored a working disc for only $20 on ebay). Been also playing FFXIV on and off. The Shiva arc was really fun! Liked that song that played during the fight. I'm getting better with my Tank anxiety and just going for it lol. There's always one dps that's trying to do my job so whatever I lack they sort of help in.

Been reading The Three-Body Problem and I love it. Very strange chinese scifi.

I did my first ever gunpla! I haven't quite finished it. I still need to paint the gun and finish the lacquer and it's been sitting on my desk unfinished like that for weeks now hahaha. But I had a lot of fun.
My mother and I are vacationing in Hawai'i. B) I'm still struggling with all the physiological and emotional baggage I couldn't leave behind, but enjoying the ocean and delaying my experience of winter. Next week, we'll stop in Colorado on the way home to New York, in order to spend several days visiting family there, likely a less-fun time.

I'm reading my way through the multi-series "Parasolverse" works of Gail Carriger, a steampunk-Victorian-AU urban fantasy paranormal romantic comedy of manners with much queer representation and found/adoptive family. It brought on a mess of uncomfortable feelings, including a lot of intense envy, but it has pushed me to address my disordered eating patterns and food/body-shaming of myself, a project limited by a set of physical factors.
Disappointing news for Trekkies outside the US and Canada: Discovery will be pulled from Netflix worldwide at midnight tonight. It will be available again in many countries when Paramount+ launches there next year, but in the meantime S1-3 will be unavailable and there will be no S4 launch outside North America.

This was announced with less than 72 hours to go before it would have premiered - a great way to alienate a fanbase.
I keep forgetting to post here from the desktop D: sorry I've been missing for a bit.

Whereas I've been neglecting all of my usual posting because I haven't found time to write any new Stormlight chapter reviews in over a month, and I've been so busy at work that I keep putting off the movie reviews until when I get home...and then forget to do it until I'm at work the next day. Rinse, repeat
new post is up
