With the new season of Arrested Development today, I thought this would be a good time to show off my Arrested Development Sims.

Yep, this is happening now! I’m super stuck on playing Mass Effect 3, and though I’m keeping up with The West Wing, I’m getting that itchy feeling that means I haven’t watched anything with spaceships in it for too long.
And guess what self-confessed sci-fi nerd has never seen a single episode of Star Trek The Original Series all the way through? Me! Though I have seen some of the movies, so I’m not a total newb.
So in the interests of full disclosure, here’s what I know:
- The basic premise of the show
- The names of all the main characters, and their basic personalities
- Anything that’s mentioned in later series like Voyager or TNG (for example I know the names of alien races like the Klingons and Romulans)
- People with red shirts die a lot
- Kirk and Spock have an epic subtextual romance thing going on
- Tribbles are a thing
I expect it to be more episodic than most shows anyway, so I guess there won’t be much in the way of spoilers to avoid. But I don’t know what happens in any individual episode, so let’s have fun finding out, shall we?

I had been on the edge with my College English Composition and Literature class, I needed an A for my last essay, and I got it! Other classes included Managerial Accounting (showed up for the final just for fun since even if I got a 0 on the final I would have had an A in the class...), Accounting Software, Beginning Excel, and Business Math.
Over the summer I will be taking Public Speaking, and in the Fall I will be destroying my soul with Economics, Statistics, US Government, Biology, and two 1 unit computer software classes. o/ Well, that's if I get into my Stats class. I'm currently number 14 on the wait list, which is never a good sign.

This time last year, Will Smith was on The Graham Norton Show and ended up performing the theme from The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. You can watch the clip here (the song starts around 1:50, but the whole thing's worth watching, even if you've already seen it).
On this week's Graham Norton, Will Smith and his son Jaden were on the show promoting their new movie, and, well... this happened:
And then Michael Douglas came out and ran awkwardly around the table a few times as a callback to an early joke in the show, and it was just a really fun talk show.

And yet it was still so terrifying that I'm left shaking and crying. I suppose it's the unfairness of it all. Holidays shouldn't be like this. But it's more than that: I just don't feel safe. In my own house I don't feel safe. I need to shower, to do laundry, a lot of things, but I can't even leave my bed, I'm so scared out of my mind right now. It's actually probably a low level PTSD recall thing.
If I can get out of the house, I might feel better. But then it's an on-the-run thing, like what happened repeatedly when my parents were stalking me. And nothing will be open.
I don't know what to do. I guess I should wait it out, but sometimes it lasts an entire day AND night. And then I'm a wreck the next day.
I'm so scared, and there's nothing to be scared of. I can't seem to help it, and that makes me feel weak and foolish.
I think I need people, and there's nobody around, and I'm so scared.
