HELP NOTEMILY DECIDE WHAT TO DO WITH HER 30TH BIRTHDAY WHICH IS IN 6 WEEKS OR SO

1. Take the week off work, travel to see friends in California. Pros: Awesome, time with rarely-seen best friend. Cons: Expensive, traveling is stressful.
2. Have a small get-together (ideas: board games, bar trivia, bowling, karaoke, that sort of thing) with friends from home. Pros: Fun, low-stress, low-cost, might strengthen ties with friends from home. Cons: Not very many friends at home; what if nobody shows up? (This is an actual fear, I have like three friends here.)
3. Something else?? Nothing? Stop worrying about it? Just have delicious vegan cake and watch Bend It Like Beckham for like the 12th time?

I'm turning 30 and it feels like a milestone so I feel like I should do something special, but from the past I know if I put too much pressure on my birthday to be ~special~ I end up feeling disappointed. But if I'm going to take time off work, I have to put in that request like tomorrow or there won't be enough time. So I have to decide. Help?
