About to start Fringe season 2. I'm going to try to make predictions but I don't know how good they'll be.

Elie is almost finished with DA2

So I just finished Legacy and Mark of The Assassin. I've done all the side quests I can see, and am about to start the final confrontation with Meredith.

Thought I should post my thoughts on the two DLC before hand though. Major stuff will be cyphered.

*wakes up and groans*

Another effect of prolonged studying; the day after my exam, I will inevitably dream of the exam material, but in that confusing, dream-logic way that makes no sense, so my logic starts rebelling and keeps me in that twilight between restful sleep and half-waking. Worse, my brain somehow managed to combine organic chemistry with looting in Fallout. This managed to make it far more depressing than even I could have believed.

Ugh.

So my grandparents are visiting this weekend, since they didn't want to drive all the way from Florida to NC during the holidays. So I've spent the last 4 days forcing myself to shrug off casual racism and backhanded compliments from my grandmother.

Probably the worst part so far has been dealing with her criticizing my younger cousin, Nicole. She's 14 now, and has gotten really into the goth look and all that. And my Grandmother hates it something awful, and is constantly complaining about it to my mom and I, several times, saying that all that make-up "cheapens her" and all that kind of shit. And I just want to scream at her to stop it. What makes it more awful is that it's very obvious why she's so critical of Nicole; she's adopted, and my grandparents have this incredibly fucked up idea that that means she's not really "Family" or some shit.

Sorry for the random rant, but I needed somewhere to vent a bit because

Before I was on LiveJournal, I was on OpenDiary, which is where I made a lot of my first Internet friends, some of whom later became real-life friends. It was a good community, but it sort of faded away as people migrated to LiveJournal or other places.

Today I discovered a Facebook message from one of them, whom I hadn't heard from in eight or nine years. She had just finished Feed, and she'd seen my name in the Acknowledgments. She had a sneaking suspicion it was me, although she could be wrong. Her message to me began with "Ha! I knew it!!" I wondered how her suspicion had been confirmed, and then I realized that my pictures are public, and I had recently posted a Christmas ornament I had made at Rick and Lisa's (yes, that Rick and Lisa) tree-trimming party:

Thank you, Newsflesh, for reconnecting two Internet friends!

I just won an Ebay auction of the Limited Signed Deluxe Gift Edition of Stardust, for $97.99! That's a bit less than it goes for at Amazon (even from third-party sellers).
Created a twitter account if y'all wanna follow me or something.

Any suggestions for celebrities? Particularly witty ones.

Lioness Rampant question: Who is this Provost character? Is it Jonathan? Gary? Roger? Claw? Someone else? I'm so confused

I watched Angel - Origin twice this weekend and teared up at the end both times. I think the motivating plot point was kind of hokey, but I really liked everything that happened so much that I forgive it. I didn't mean to watch it twice. I just realized today that I'd like to watch it again. And I liked it again.

After editing the Doctor Who series 4 book (spoiler: Mark really, really hates the end of Donna's story) I had to commission this fic. It's still my headcanon, even after The End of Time.

Can I just say how much I hate flying?

I managed to go 23 years of my life being perfectly fine with it and then I have one really bad trip and now it's full on panic mode during every takeoff and landing. Like, I used to think turbulence was fun. FUN. Now I have to crank up my podcasts as loud as possible and try not to start crying when we hit some.

And I still need to fly to VA in two weeks *headdesk*

I was planning a bad movie marathon for this past weekend. I watched Grease 2 and Dirty Dancing: Havana Nights. It was delightful. I was also planning on watching the Twilight movies (and catching up on the last 2) but every time I thought about watching them I got angry and I knew I would end up yelling at my screen, like I do every time I find any of them on tv.

Anybody have any delightfully bad movie suggestions? Nothing that makes me want to yell at anything, but those that belong in the "so bad, it's good" territory or things that take themselves too seriously (e.g., Grease 2).

I've got a general Secret Santa etiquette question. (being new to the whole idea of not giving gifts in person--the things you don't learn when all your relatives live within 2 hours of you...)I've got a general Secret Santa etiquette question. (being new to the whole idea of not giving gifts in person--the things you don't learn when all your relatives live within 2 hours of you...)

Is it bad form to have the gift shipped directly (without coming to you first), if there isn't a gift box option, or is that totally acceptable?

I have started working with somebody named Jonathan at work. Everytime I see his name written down, my brain processes it and pronounces it as Wbanguna.

The end.
