Fun times with Daleks! Who can now make human Daleks, well, this is just wonderful, Moffat, like we needed more things to be afraid of.

I really liked Oswin! Except...she's supposed to be the new Companion somehow? I thought she looked like her, but she wasn't in the credits, but she was in the credits at the end, so I'm really confused. Also because the twist made no sense because how did she not sound like a Dalek to everyone when she was talking to them?

And daaaaaamn, Moffat, is this your way of declaring a moratorium on Daleks?? Mindwiping them into not being the Doctor's greatest enemies?? Surely that will be reversed at some point.

Also did the Doctor not give Amy his bracelet just so she and Rory would be forced to work out their marital issues or something?? Also I still think 2,000 years of waiting trumps juuuuust about everything, Amy.

I liked it, but it did have some of the usual issues with going for the twist at the expense of making sense. YOU CAN HAVE TWISTS AND STILL MAKE SENSE MOFFAT. IT HAPPENS. THEY ARE THE BEST KIND ACTUALLY.

Well, if we're going to have Dalek-human hybrids, I like these kind much better than Dalek Sec from "Daleks in Manhattan."

Next week looks awesome just for the guest stars alone.

I have seriously mixed feelings about this episode. I liked Oswin, and if the Daleks forgot about him thanks to her, maybe, JUST MAYBE we can stop having them all the frigging time. Yeesh. The guy remembering he died in the snow was a nice creepy twist too. I was distinctly unimpressed, though, by everything with Amy and Rory. Throwing the 2,000 years thing in her face? Not cool. Amy being in peril AGAIN while Rory got to be badass? Siiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiigh. And them nearly divorcing because the people at Demon's Run made her infertile or something without our knowing it? Ugh. LIKE YOU CAN'T ADOPT? Gimme a fucking break.

Also, how is Oswin related to the upcoming new companion??? I AM CONFUSED. Bah. At least next week looks epic: Arthur Weasley, Filch, Rupert Graves, Nefertiti, and dinosaurs on a spaceship. I have higher hopes for that one.

Also I fucking hated that "I was going through a phase" line. Stop treating people's sexualities as punchlines, Moffat. Please. Ugh.

More Doctor Who means more awesomeness from Poparena!

-The Daleks have a Parliment and Prime Minister? How the fuck does that work? Don't they all vote EXTERMINATE? Or is the EGGSTERMINATE party holding up the vote?

-"Does it surprise you to learn that the Daleks have a concept of beauty?" A little, yeah. I guess it's not the elegant kind of beauty, though.

-What's the glowing green goo Rory wipes off his cheek right before he gets up? Random goo? Or Chekhov's goo?

-Rory, why are you styling your hair like the Doctor? Please don't.

-"Won't you introduce us to your crew?" "Uh, yeah, sorry--Guys, this is the Doctor and Amy" OK, I totally thought Hoth dude was just messing with them at first, and he was about to be all "HA! Just kidding. These guys have been dead for ages!" And then he kind of does say that... except it's way creepier than what I was imagining.

-"Actually, she was called Nina. I was going through a phase." I hope that means she went through a phase where she called everyone Rory for the lulz. More seriously: "going through a phase" is loaded, dismissive language for bisexuality. "Going through a phase" should be used to explain away photos of terrible fashion choices of yesteryear, not love.

-They're not eggs, ok? They're DALEK BUMPS.

-Amy almost turned into a Weeping Angel and now she's turning into a Dalek?

-The trippy close-up shots of Amy remind me of shots from Requiem for a Dream. Great, now I'm imagining Amy and Rory as Marion and Harry NO THANK YOU

-Amy/Rory UGH. Why does this plotline even exist. It makes no sense.

-DALEK SOUFFLE GIRL. I'M NOT CRYING. my eyes are watering. this food is really spicy, ok?

-DALEK COMPANION <3 I NEVER KNEW I WANTED THIS BUT NOW I WANT IT MORE THAN ANYTHING

-OK she looks right at the camera when she says "remember". I find this highly suspicious.

Well, EGGcepting everything to do with Amy and Rory, I liked this episode (far more than I expected to, even). Dalek episodes usually fall flat for me, but I liked them here. Oswin's dalekification was both horrifying and kinda heartbreaking. (Although why would they convert humans into Daleks? I can handwave it for prison security, but why is there a hybrid on the parliamentary ship?)

The Ponds though... blah. OOC, awful, and completely pointless. Do they not talk about their relationship at all if the Doctor isn't around? What about adoption and, uh, the fact that they already have a child?

Moffat, can we stop with the contrived Pond drama, please?

I'm thankful that at least there was A reason given for the breakup, and they immediately got back together. I spent most of the episode worried the show was doing the thing seen in the likes of Ghostbusters 2 and The Jewel of the Nile, where a couple was last seen happily together, and then the writer can't think of anything more to do with them like that, so the next time we see them they're inexplicably broken up so we can see them get together again.

That said, it was still a piss poor reason that seemed more like a plot from Coupling that Moffat never got to do.
I keep checking back on Mark Watches for the new review. I didn't realise how much I depended on it for post-watching entertainment! I don't like to go to other websites because they allow spoilers (from watching filming etc) and I enjoy the surprises on Doctor Who!
