Sunday Summary - May 1 - 7

So what does Mark have for us this week?

Well, first we'll see his mind EXPLODE with
Monday - Doctor Who: The Day of the Moon

then,
Tuesday - Avatar: The Blue Spirit
Wednesday - The Fortuneteller
Thursday - Bato of the Water Tribe
Friday - The Deserter

Then on Saturday it's going to be more NuWho with 'The Curse of the Black Spot!' Grab some rum and prepare to drink up, me hearties, yo HO!

Saturday we'll also be watching the Classic Who episode 'The Mysterious Planet,' a Six adventure.

Also, there is a good chance that Mark will be finishing The Book Thief this week. He has 16 chapters left and since he's been sticking to three to four chapters a day he should be finished Thursday or Friday. Monday at the very, very latest.

Lastly, I'm going to be moving starting, well, today! So behave everyone! I'll be keeping an eye on things via my phone, but you're going to be mostly unsupervised for these next couple of days. So just tidy up before I get back and don't do anything that'll make the neighbors call the cops. And please, stop jumping from the second floor of the library into the swimming pool! The railing is starting to look a bit scuffed and I don't know how to unscuff this futuristic supposedly unscuffable material. Last time I ever buy anything from Dorium's Emporium, the cheat.

oh crap I've confused myself again.
so, the doctor who has had his mind frazzled by so many memory wipes has been looking after astronaut annie. but that has presumably been sans astronaut suit, seeing as all the pictures of her looked normal?
and then the silents/silence decided it was time to put her in the suit, for whatever reason, and she got scared of the spaceman coming to eat her (ie the astronaut suit moving on its own, as per what river deduced) then phoned the highest authority available- the president.
but how did she phone the president when she wasn't wearing the suit? she was saying "the spaceman is coming, he' going to eat me!" so it was pre suit, and pre awesome phone technology?
unless they put her in the suit on a regular basis, like every evening? and the suit has learnt her voice or brainwaves or something and can phone the president when she isn't even wearing it? or maybe the silent is the spaceman?

Ten and Martha were in 1969. Without a TARDIS. They said the moonlanding was good, which meant they watched it on telly.
Everyone was wondering why Eleven was so happy for River to shoot them, and to basically commit genocide. Was it because he too was unknowingly told to kill them on sight? He doesn't have a gun but he 'knows' that he was told to kill them!

Ooh yay, Blue Spirit! Awesome episode!

I'm also quite anxious for him to finish Book Thief, because next is HDM, and I'm very very interested in his reactions to that series. It's going to take forever to get to what I'm most excited about him reading, though: SANDMAN. I've been on another reread binge since I found out (thanks for passing on the news, echinodermata!) that he'll be tackling that after LOTR, and just... ugh. uNF. THIS SERIES. <3 It benefits so much from rereads, I gain new appreciation for it every time I pick up a volume and dive in. I can't even imagine Mark's reactions to stuff, it's going to be great fun. Needless to say, I will smash with the fist of an angry mod anyone who spoils the slightest thing. I also really really hope Mark Reads/Watches regulars who haven't experienced it yet will read along (although, like me with ATLA, you might find that difficult: I find comics to read rather quickly, and it is VERY addictive), or check out before he gets there so as not to be spoiled.

I just realized the promos for the third ep are not for the third ep I was expecting, but is in fact written by the dude who wrote "Blind Banker." (Should have clued into it earlier, since I know the title of the ep I was expecting.) WELL, that's not happymaking. Did they change the lineup or was I mistaken in thinking the one ep by that one guy who I won't name was meant to be the third ep?

I have now written my DW commentary for Monday, and now have to choose gifs people made on tumblr. Seriously, this is hard because there's so many to choose from and I try not include too many.

I know I won't end up using this graphic, so I'll put it here:

EDIT: does 10 gifs over 2 comments seem like too much?

Yay, looking forward to this week. The Blue Spirit is awesome of course, but I also like the Deserter. What will be particuarly epic will be next week, of course; Northern Air Temple to start, but then we launch straight into 'The Water Bending Master' and the 'Siege of the North'. Who's ready for the epic?

Also, if Mark is doing comic books now- or at least long collected series that I presume the Sandman is like- think we should suggest 'The Watchmen' as reading material? Its bleak, and therefore right up his alley.
