Mark Watches ‘Doctor Who’: S05E08 – The Hungry Earth

Over at 'Watches' Mark should hopefully be home with 'The Hungry Earth' going up soon!

Short today. I'm still plagued. I'm gonna go over there and finish coughing up my lungs now.

Ugh, I feel like this episode could be amazing, but bits of it just don't make sense to me. Such a shame. Get well soon!

I'm so tired I haven't even bothered to rewatch this. The Silurians creep the hell out of me anyway - I shudder every time there's a close up on their skin. The TARDIS team plus the adorable Welsh kid are the only things I enjoy from this episode :|
Also, I've just found out the title of the Neil Gaiman episode and I'm freaking out!

I wish that deleted scene had been in there, I really like it.

I have my review ready, but I'll probably be a bit late. Sigh. Story of most of this week.

Yeah I can't watch it again, once over the weekend was enough so my comment's going to be very short. I decided to get an (extremely) early start on rewatching BSG, I'll probably end up doing this again closer to when Mark starts. I'd forgotten just how damn bleak it is even right at the beginning.

I haven't written my review yet because I haven't clue what to say and nothing much is really standing out to talk about without having seen both episodes. I think it might end up just being random points.

I have a little bit of tomorrow's review written though and guitily enjoy acting like I'm still sad and a bit annoyed that they killed Rory off and the way they did. I can't wait to see everyone's reactions to Rory's death tomorrow.

Aw, feel better, E.L.S.O.S. It's such a horrid time of year to be sick.

Also, gif request thread! Mostly for "Cold Blood," but really you can request practically anything from the Doctor Who universe since 2005 (Doctor Who, Torchwood, Sarah Jane Adventures), along with many things featuring members of the cast (Confidentials; Proms; assorted scripted, chat, and panel shows). I'm become rather magpie-like with this stuff, it seems.

Ooh, I have just enough time to rewatch "Death of the Doctor" before Mark posts, so I'll check back in later. :)

I'm mostly just kind of meh with some good things about this two-parter, so I'm quite interested to see why it's so disliked, Rory's death notwithstanding. I prefer these eps to Victory of the Daleks, for instance.

I'm watching Cold Blood, and Amy, Rory and Nasreen are all so awesome. Argh, these episodes are so frustrating. I want to fully like them because I like so many of the characters, as well as the negotiation aspect, but they're just weird. Also, I can't tell if I'm just being sensitive, but the irrational woman thing is irritating to me. :/ IDK.

ETA: THE ENDING AND RORY AND OMG. It will not be difficult to mourn him tomorrow. :( :( :(

Y'all, "Rose loves drugs" is creeping into REAL LIFE for me. I was having a conversation with my mother earlier, and she said "I don't like drugs" (context was Valium after minor medical procedures), and I just barely stopped myself from giggling because I thought to myself "Well, you wouldn't get along with Rose, then."

I really hope that Mark doesn't see this coming since Rory has already died once in the show, and I really hope he doesn't call that he's going to be back. The whole last two episodes are just moment after moment of awesomeness and total sadness. I predict some major keyboard smashes in the future.

Also, I know this has probably been asked before, but how do you post gifs in the comments, and where do you find them? Or does everyone make their own? I'm new to threads like this so I don't really know where to go to find gifs.
