This is where Mark lets us know when the new videos are up (they're usually uploaded all at once). Please do not try to buy a new episode until he posts here (or on Twitter) to say there's something new ready to download. SERIOUSLY.
Link exchanges and donations take place on the Black Market post. Below are links to the store page for the show (just click on the show title), plus a list of the episodes that we expect to be uploaded for the week.

This week: Backlog shenanigans and probably starting Beyond Good and Evil
Plactus 102p · 376 weeks ago
Last week I covered through 7.05 "Rnfgjngpu." Yesterday I watched 7.06 "Beyond the Wall," and today I finished season seven with "Gur Qentba naq gur Jbys."
I'm not quite done with Westeros yet; I have A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms and will get to that someday soonish, plus I have thoughts on what I've read of The World of Ice and Fire that I'll probably type up and post eventually. (And of course there's another season of the show, and maybe eventually more books.)
Unmarked spoilers through what I've seen and for all the books.
General Game of Thrones TW: Any related to blood/gore/injuries, war/violence/torture/death, slavery, misogyny, and sex (in particular, incest and rape/consent issues).
Specific to the last two episodes: Haqrnq/qrpnlvat obqvrf, onggyr ivbyrapr, sver/oheavat, qrngu (vapyhqvat navznyf), pbyyncfvat ohvyqvatf, vaprfg.

For this thread, I'll be using THIS ORDER for the MCU rewatch.

Warning: I don't think what I'm saying here hits any of the listed triggers, but my question relates to sexuality, gender, and negative cultural stuff around both, so any resulting thread is likely to get more into that.
Hello everyone, I've been hanging around Mark Reads for a while after discovering he'd done all of Tamora Pierce, but haven't commented over there, not being up to date with any of the projects going on just now and holding out hope I will get to read them unspoiled in future. I feel like I've learnt a lot as a reader and as a person from the thoughtfulness and willingness to share personal experiences and connections to the text in Mark's reads of stories I loved and the comments of this community, even just reading through old posts.
So, having realised I could really do with some recommendations of books (or other media, though reading is a first love for me) addressing challenges I wasn't fully conscious of until recently, this community came to mind as place to start. I don't think it's on topic for anywhere over on Mark Reads, so I hope this thread is an appropriate place to ask, and that it's not too forthright to just pop up with this as my first post without having been in conversations before?
Assuming that's all OK, the question I have is: are there books/stories more broadly/other media things anyone can point me towards that (in general, or in your particular experience) have something good to offer around trying to untangle or counter (a) internalised sex-negative/repressive beliefs, even or especially where they don't have a very obvious source, and/or (b) negative associations with femininity, particularly as that impacts on being comfortable in one's own body. I'm coming into this from a straight and pretty much cis-female experience, but by no means looking only for mirrors of that in any recommendations people might have.
I realise that could be a rather heavy ask, so any and all suggestions appreciated, and if I've misstepped in putting this here or the phrasing used I apologise and am willing to be set right.

I was so happy to see the massive numbers of people marching this weekend!
And this does feel different somehow. I remember attending the March for Women's Lives back in 2004, and it was huge, but it was just in Washington. The 2017 Women's March, the 2018 Women's March, and now the March For Our Lives have all been national and even global. People aren't just marching in Washington. They're marching in Boston and Chicago and Boise and Omaha.
This is huge, and the Republicans are in for a huge surprise in November, because they are vastly underestimating the impact of this movement.

If you wanted to check out her work and see if you like it, she has a podcast that serializes some of her short fiction called Sheep Might Fly
Mark also read one of her stories as a patreon commission:

Part 2

Actual train of thought:
"Aww man, I LOVED that book as a kid! And they don't really make light horror/mystery kids movies anymore, this could be gr- da fuq do you mean it was directed by Eli Roth"
