First my stepsister shared with us a petition to abolish the Electoral College, and now even better: Petition for the Electoral College to Elect Hillary Clinton on December 19. This was linked on my professor, Nnedi Okorafor's, Twitter: https://www.change.org/p/electoral-college-electo...
I hadn't known this, but there's no legal way of stopping Electoral College members from voting against the majority of their State. They just have to pay a small fine, which would be well worth it.

Yes, nearly two years after I finished A Game of Thrones I'm finally getting back into this. Basically, I'm tired of falling further behind on the show.
My goal for a pace is ~60 pages/day Mon-Sat. I'll try to stick to chapter breaks as well. (I looked ahead to where I'm finishing today, and page 60 is right in the middle of a long chapter. Choices already.) At that pace, I should finish December 15, and I'll go straight into A Storm of Swords. Also at that point, I'll start watching Game of Thrones season 2.
Spoilers will generally be unciphered through what I've read. Nun, etc. away :)
TW: I haven't read any of this book so I can't say for sure, but based on the last one, to be on the safe side, assume any triggers related to blood/gore, war/violence/death, and sex (in particular, incest and rape/consent issues). Anything that needs mention beyond that will get a specific warning.
