Not that my group is starting it yet (our main tank is out of town so we're gonna wait for him to come back before progging) but I'm so excited.
By the by, the world race to complete p1s-4s was completed on the first day. It was ridiculous lol

FFXIV Endwalker - Part 31: Departing Eorzea [Unspoiled]
Summary: Reconnecting with my old friends in the Ilsabard Contingent.
"Blessed are we to have made countless steadfast allies o'er our journey's course."

-Out of all the past inclusions here, one of these things is not like the other. Emmanelain is the thing. He could just be comic relief, but I wouldn't be surprised if something more dramatic is in store for him.
-My first tentative interpretation of Cirina's grandmother's dream is that the burning red star and frozen black star crashing against each other are Zenos and Zodiark. It's a fairly uneducated guess, though.
-Tataru is the sweetest potato. I just love everything about her.

Summary: The Ilsabard Contingent busts into Garlemald. Caravan defense, shockingly fun stealth, and battling the tempered legions.
"Far colder on the earth than in the heavens."

-In this snowy setting, Lucia looks like she's glowing. All the white armor in the game is phenomenal in this place.
-ALL PRAISE TO THE DRAWN CHARACTER ART ABOVE DIALOGUE! It's a small tough, but it adds so much to the game.
-This game has now done something I've never experienced in the FF series: given me a stealth challenge that doesn't suck. The tools are reasonable, the rules are fairly clear, it has some room for error but not infinite room for error...
It's kind of shocking to experience. Well played, EW.
-The banter between Estinien and Y'shtola at 26:39 feels fresh. I don't remember a ton of interaction between those two and I appreciate the writers trying it out.
-Even better? The brief interaction between Cirina and Sadu (32:21). (Poor Magnai. Hope springs eternal, I guess.)

Here we are folks, at the end of S2. What a ride it has been! As per usual, discussions will be held below after we've watched the episode!
Mark will be holding tonight's liveblog here: https://www.patreon.com/markdoesstuff/posts
I meant to get this post up earlier, but I've been sick and very low energy.

Last year kinda sucked! But I played 35 games! NIce, I guess, to have a distraction?
My favourite game of last year was probably Control. Really vibed with it, fantastic game and I recommend it to everyone here.
Last game I finished was THE LONGING, which is where Shade comes from. It's an idle adventure game that lasts up to 400 days of real time. No, I didn't spend 400 days with Shade but I did spend a good amount with him and managed to get a pretty good ending to the game. If you're into something really different and have the patience then I thoroughly rec THE LONGING.
Currently playing Breath of Fire 3 on the psp. I really like it! About 25 hours in and enjoying it pretty well. Mass Effect 3 is on the backlog for now as I catch my breath from PC games and play something offline for a bit.
Please tell me your favourites from last year! It feels so long since I caught up with you all and I would love to hear from you.

Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity, continuing on from the end of 2020. The DLC added some really fun content to it, and it's just overall a really fun, special game to me. I'm currently in a replay started after getting both DLC packs, that I intend to 100% (again).
Spiritfarer was another big one. Absolutely heartbreaking, but also very well-written and aesthetically gorgeous, with beautiful graphics and music, and if you like farming/cooking/crafting and the like, then the gameplay will be right up your alley. I haven't gotten very far in the final DLC pack, but the first two really added to the game with its new characters and quality of life improvements.
I also finally got around to playing Untitled Goose Game and had a lot of fun being a horrible goose. xD
Another overdue try-out was Night in the Woods, which I absolutely adored. Great characters and story in a fantastic setting, I've got to replay it to see the scenes I missed by choosing one character over another in certain spots.
And sliding in at the last minute was Animal Crossing: New Horizons, which I admittedly stopped playing for several months, but then the huge free update + "dlc" that is actually a spinoff game within the game redeemed it with all the new content added. I'm now hooked on redesigning my villager's homes and am obsessed with certain new options for home design.
In the backlog: Skyward Sword HD (kinda fell by the wayside there, but I mostly have been enjoying it), the Legend of Mana HD remake (love it, need to get back to it), Impostor Factory (have not started it, but I really loved To the Moon and Finding Paradise, so I gotta get to this at some point), plus a handful of other games I've gotten on the Switch eShop and either haven't gotten far in or haven't even started. it's becoming a problem...
