So, my fiance got an Audible membership and Monument 14 on audiobook for a car trip about a month ago, and I finally got around to listening to it. I've finished it and was, for the most part, pretty impressed. I plan to get the second one and start the sequel (whose name I still don't know) soon.
In the meantime, has anyone else here read Monument 14? What are your thoughts?

Still working on writing articles for cracked, and one of the things I’m talking about is the way female characters are written. And I need some examples of “heroic” female characters that have to suffer to become heroes in comparison to male ones. Any examples you guys can give me?

I had only meant to show her two or three of Marks early posts. We ended up spending the entire night reading; She read the ENTIRE ARCHIVE of Mark Reads Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone, all in one setting. (We had to get to the end because she needed to see Mark's reaction to Quirrell being the villain instead of Snape.) She didn't just read it silently, she read the whole thing OUT LOUD. Mark's screen play reviews even got her to do different British accents for the characters. She also said the F-word for probably the first time in her life. She was trying so hard to self-censor herself too, (saying FFFfff-- or dropping the U sound) but two thirds of the way in she broke down and started saying it. I will make a potty mouth of her yet! :D
I seriously wish that we had thought to record it. It was so much fun.
