Wow. This week's Buffy reviews will cover pretty much my least favorite stretch of episodes in the whole Buffyverse. I've watched ahead and taken notes on them already and ended up with page upon page of annoyed diatribes.

Well, that's pretty decisive.

Lossthief Watches Last Exile
Things I know about this series:
- It's apparently Steampunk
- It and Haibane Renmei are like the only ones on my list that anyone here had seen
- It exists

Well then

Nicole watches Grimm!

I like reading all of the reviews of stuff people are reading/watching (unless I haven't read/watched it yet, of course), and since I just discovered this show, I thought I'd add to it.

I'll do a separate post per episode, so people can talk freely in the replies EXCEPT about future episodes, that can go in ROT13 as usual. Ok, here goes, spoilers in the reply!

Random question time. Has anyone else ever had the experience of a particular thing in something fictional making you incredibly angry and not knowing why at all? I get this with one random scene of a film I love and it confuses me.

It's not anything like anything I've ever experienced personally, or something which generally makes me angry in the real world, or even something so badly written that it pisses me off because of that. I just have this really odd visceral reaction to it every time. Hmmm. Maybe one day I'll work it out.

Stefb4 posts her Immortals thoughts :)

I'm spoiled for some things, but please rot13 if I hadn't gotten to that part yet, and let me know when I can read it :)

Also, let me just say that I really like these covers, and definitely more than the SotL ones I have (the model for Immortals is a much more convincing Daine and definitely not as ridiculous with the modern-clothes, they should have gone this route for SotL). MY FAVORITE IS THE WOLF SPEAKER COVER IT IS SO PRETTY AND GREEN

So, over the course of August, I was busy with several things, one of them being a writing project I've been planning for a bit that I finally sat down to write out for Camp NaNoWriMo. I got through the first half, and I'm now making my way through it, editing and tweaking chapter by chapter.

My question to all you is: would you all be interested in reading it when I finish each chapter? I'm always looking to improve my writing, and I'd love for you folks to offer some constructive criticism. Generally the people I show my stuff to will tell me it's good, but they're not big into reading or writing, and I often feel like they're trying not to say anything negative to spare my feelings, but you all have a great knack for analyzing stuff, and I can't think of a better group to show my work to.

Boardwalk Empire episode 3x1: Richard Harrow, like a motherfucking boss. By now I'm fully hoping he ends up reigning supreme over everyone else's corpses.

I just watched the first three episodes of My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic. That is one colorful-ass show (that's right, the ponies do have colorful asses). I felt slightly embarrassed for the first ten minutes or so, but once all the characters were introduced, I started to enjoy it. It's fun and adorable, but I'll wait to see why the Internet is so ga-ga over it.

In conclusion, Pinkie Pie is the greatest. Fluttershy is a close second. And, hey, they're voiced by the same actress despite having polar opposite personalities, ha.

It's 5am and I am unable to sleep because of my knee [I hurt it while out running last night... well to be fair, it was bothering me before that but it's always bothering me so I didn't realize how bad running would make it] and I have a headache.

What do people do at 5am? I just want to sleep. :( I'm icing my knee and I just took some aleve for the headache but I don't think either one will help all that much.

I'm watching Habeas Corpses now. I forgot how great it is, even though through the first scene I just sat there saying 'nope' over and over to myself, with the occasional 'eeeewww' thrown in. Speaking of which, someone should really keep count of the number of times Mark said 'nope' in the video for Apocalypse Nowish as I swear he said it through most of the whole episode.

Anyway, on the whole I'm enjoying season four much more than I did the last time around.

Harry Potter Meme: Day Twenty Eight
If You Could Perform Any Spell Without a Wand, What Would It Be?

Two possibilities jump to mind; accio and apparition. Not the flashiest of spells, admittedly, but probably the most useful. I constantly think how much easier life would be if I could just teleport to my location, or stop having to search for my blasted keys. (True fact: whenever I have trouble finding something, I mutter “accio” under my breath. The sign of a true geek, clearly).

Runners up would be transfiguration (especially metamorphmagus, because that would be cool) and a cheering charm, because that just sounds like a nice spell to use.

Tomorrow we’re talking about something incredibly specific and obscure, names: “Whatever tickles your fancy! Open round!
