Also OMG my sister's boyfriend got me the best birthday present ever. A working Master's pocket watch! I can't tell you how long I've wanted a Time Lord watch but thought they only made the kids plastic toy versions. I'm already trying to figure out how to attach it to my jeans to use in day to day life.

Me and my husband dressed as Amy and the Doctor: http://i.imgur.com/gHmtn.jpg
I know I don't have the right hair to make a very convincing Amy, but I think my boy makes a great Eleven.

Moffat has finally responded to allegations of sexism, apparently only realising it was a common complaint recently. Apparently, the original interview where his first sexist quotes came from (about men being able to go longer without a relationship, whereas women are hunting for husbands) was taken out of context, as he was describing the philosophy of a character on his show Coupling, not himself.
Now, I don't know Coupling, and while he could be telling the truth, he could be lying. I do think he allows for sexist tendencies to come in to Doctor Who, but that people have been exagerrating quite a bit, as well. (This might come from something of my pet peeve of people describing any woman whose romantically or sexually engaged with a guy as 'sexist', although of course there are other influences.)
Here's the article I read: http://www.themarysue.com/stephen-moffat-misogyny...

Mapping Stereotypes
Basically, it's a series of maps (mostly Europe) that depict countries as other countries see them. It pokes fun at all sorts of stereotypes and prejudices, and there are a lot of pretty accurate portrayals. :D

Look, I wanted to like it, it sounded like such a cool concept and world, but I just felt let down in the end. The cast was kinda so-so, I didn't care at all for the love story and the way it played out, there was this weird habit of switching back and forth between first person and third person, even in the same chapter, and the climax felt odd and kinda rushed. It also didn't help that I was fresh off the Inkheart trilogy, which I felt did the concept of people/characters moving to/from book worlds MUCH better and had a better cast to boot. I dunno, anyone else here read it before? It started out interesting but then I got more and more disappointed as it went on. Which saddened me because it sounded awesome in theory. Oh well.
