Everything about this scene makes me laugh. The Doctor popping out of the cake, his relief that he's at the right stag party this time, the fact that he asks them to get a sweater for the girl who was actually supposed to be in the cake, the looks everyone gives him when he tells Rory that Amy kissed him. EVERYTHING about this scene is FULL of hilarity to me.
So what about you? What is your favorite scene or moment from Doctor Who?
Tomorrow: Break out the tissues! It's time to talk about the Who scene that makes you cry!

"I got suspended after I blew up the art room... It was only a small explosion, they couldn't understand how blowing up the art room was a creative act!"
This scene is just such a great introduction to Ace's... explosive personality. (God I love bad puns).

Okay, so it starts with the lovely detail of spam papers on the TARDIS having been burned off, and then Vincent gets all distracted by the future, and then Eleven/Matt copies the statue thing, and then we walk into the actual museum proper. And Vincent's again distracted because he's looking at beautiful art, and then we get to HIS art. AND CUE THE MUSIC, then he's looking around his own exhibit, and from there I start crying.
Then we get Bill Nighy giving my favorite monologue of the show:
"Well... um... big question, but, to me Van Gogh is the finest painter of them all. Certainly the most popular, great painter of all time. The most beloved, his command of colour most magnificent. He transformed the pain of his tormented life into ecstatic beauty. Pain is easy to portray, but to use your passion and pain to portray the ecstasy and joy and magnificence of our world, no one had ever done it before. Perhaps no one ever will again. To my mind, that strange, wild man who roamed the fields of Provence was not only the world's greatest artist, but also one of the greatest men who ever lived."
I already talked about this scene for the "favorite guest star" day, but I have to say it again: Tony Curran absolutely makes this scene.
I've said before that I like happy endings, so it is a testament to this scene that I picked it as my favorite. It's part happy, but a lot sad.
And I'm gonna cheat a bit and simply post gifs from other parts of this episode, since I already used gifs from this scene for my favorite guest star post.

I think I’m going to go with the ‘Hello, I’m the Doctor’ moment from ‘The Eleventh Hour’. It wonderfully combines the nostalgia and love of past Doctors with a brilliant Crowning Moment of Awesome from our brand new Doctor which all just leads to a brilliant moment of FUCK YEAH DOCTOR WHO!

"I found you. I found you in words, like you knew I would. That's why you told me the story, the brand new, ancient blue box. Oh, clever, very clever."
This entire scene is just the very definition of beautiful to me. It begins with Amy receiving the now-blank diary from River Song - who is acting in the role of fairy godmother - and beginning to realize that something is wrong, that someone isn't there who should be. In a parallel to a scene from Pandorica Opens, she begins crying without knowing it at first, and Rory this time assumes it's because she's happy, but no, she's sad, and she has no idea why. As her father makes his speech, she looks around the room, seeing things that begin to trigger her memory of the Doctor: a bow tie, braces, and finally the diary itself. With everything in place in her mind, she stands, and makes a speech to everyone about her imaginary friend and how he was in fact real, ending with a shouted declaration that she remembers the "raggedy Doctor" and that he is late for her wedding.
There's a slight pause, enough to make both her and the audience wonder if perhaps she's just humiliated herself in front of everyone for nothing. But then - the wind begins to blow from nowhere, the tables shake, and Murray Gold's fantastic score kicks in, under Amy's monologue above. As Rory asks her what's going on, we begin to hear the familiar sound of the TARDIS materializing, and as she recites the old wedding verse in response to his question, we see it appear before our eyes. Through the power of memory, and thought, of words and stories, she has called the Doctor back into existence, setting things back to the way they should be.
It's a perfect, wonderful scene, straight out of a fairy tale, which of course fits right into the "sci-fi fairy tale" feel that we've been given all series long by Moffat. It's a climax that makes sense, and is a very clever and emotionally satisfying way of using the concept of the power of words and stories. Things have been leading up to this from the very beginning, and it does not disappoint. It's one of the many reasons why Pandorica Opens/Big Bang are far and away my favorite series finale.

Everybody lives!
The Doctor has been through completely unimaginable trauma recently. Although he's been helped by Rose's company, he's still got a whopping case of PTSD and survivor's guilt, tends to assume the worst of people and events, and he just generally expects bad things to keep on happening. But in this scene, he gets exactly the thing he needs, a situation in which he can fix things, reunite mother and child, and leave a place genuinely better than he found it. It's a moment that begins to restore at least some faith in, well, the universe and its potential for goodness.

“The Girl Who Waited” http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3BUumw7f8EQ
My number one favorite has to be from “The Big Bang” when Eleven finds seven-year-old Amelia and tucks her into bed. You can count each of his nine hundred plus years on his face. Of course, when you rewatch it you realize he’s seeding the memories and “Something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue,” but it’s still an absolutely touching scene.
“That’s The Exciting Thing” http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vtmiMIIberg
This Crowning Moment of Heartwarming comes from “Tomb of the Cybermen,” in which Two comforts Victoria. It’s very subtle in its emotion, as much of the classic series was, but no less touching than any scene from new Who. Troughton’s Doctor is very fatherly and warm, and Victoria is sweet. I’ve watched this clip over a dozen times. :)
“The Daisiest Daisy” http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bhmbxvT1gOA
This one is a bit of a lesser known one. It’s from a scene in “The Time Monster,” in which the Third Doctor and Jo are chained up in a cell. Jo, being her lovably ditzy self, has given up hope, so Three tells her a story from his childhood on Gallifrey. Pertwee’s monologue is captivating, giving us just the merest glimpse of the Doctor’s backstory.

The Unicorn and the Wasp. As someone said yesterday, all of it.
Donna helps the Doctor destroy Pompeii in Fires of Pompeii.
Calling the Doctor from Stolen Earth. I love this scene so very much.
Vincent Van Gogh sees his work in the future in Vincent and the Doctor.
Ten says goodbye to everyone. Sarah Jane's reaction was the only time I really lost it watching the End of Time. You can tell she just knows what's happening, and she's also grateful that he said goodbye this time.

Well, I'll two groups: Dark and Happy, because they're so very different. (And sad and funny are for later dates)
Dark: 'John Smith' revealing himself as the Doctor, and then dealing out the fates of The Family.
The scene begins with the Family gloating, and the acting of the entire group, especially Brother of Mine is spot on. You see them utterly prepared to crush England, nothing but their own greed and cruelty.
And then Smith comes in; bumbling, sweet, completely human, and we all want him to live but we know he can't. We see him pleading for his life, desperate- and all we can think is 'He gave up. He gave up the Doctor'. We see the watch get handed over, see The Family open it and- BAM! Complete roll reversal. Tennant switches characters instantly, immediately going into clever and cheeky Time-Lord mode. Its funny, its quirky, and all I can think is 'He'd back!'
And then, the mood changes again, with the Fury of a Time Lord. Such a poignant scene, seeing the Doctor ruthlessly trap the family with hardly a moment of regret upon his face. The writing is spot on, and the Son's narration is cold and chilling. Simply amazing.
Happy!:
The return of the Doctor in the Big Bang.
Everything is so beautiful about this scene. Amy, at her wedding day, suddenly breaking into tears.
Rory: You're...you're crying.
Amy: So I am. Why am I crying?
Rory: 'Cause..'cause you're happy. Happy Mrs. Rory?
Amy: No. I'm sad. I'm really, really sad.
Part of me breaks when I see how crushed Rory is, thinking his wife's rejecting him, and I also smile at the beautiful call back to the previous episode where Amy cried over Rory's return. Her two boys.
The return of her memories is amazing, as she looks around the hall and sees everything that reminds her of the Doctor- bow-ties, suspenders, and River's TARDIS diary. And finally, she remembers! Not only his her speech so passionate, so desperate, but its also wonderfully at odds with everyone else, who just basically say "oh, not again" only to be shut up by the magic of the TARDIS appearing.
"It's...its the Doctor. How did we forget the Doctor?" Oh, Rory, never change. (Or die again. Seriously. Three times in one season).
Basically, the acting of all parties is brilliant here, and its a mix of sad, happy, funny and beautiful. I absolutely love how Something Old, New, Borrowed and Blue got woven in- I cheered out loud the firsttime I heard it.

Well OK then. The end of "The Parting of the Ways". http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nm0OwfwSXa4
The Daleks setting up the parallels between themselves and the Doctor. The Doctor's choice of cowardice. Rose's transformation into the Bad Wolf. Is this cheesy? But I love Bad Wolf Rose. I love the courage and insanity and love that makes her look into the vortex. I love her takedown of the Daleks. And I love the Doctor's incredibly cheesy line before he kisses her.
(And then we say goodbye to Eccleston, WAHHHHH!)

*Not in order of preference, just happened to think of them as I was running through the series and episodes in my mind*
1) River sacrificing herself at the end of "Forest of the Dead".
2) Eleven being locked inside the pandorica at the end of "The Pandorica Opens".
3) Rose letting go of the rift 'lock' at the end of "Doomsday".
4) Donna's memory being wiped at the end of "Journey's End".
5) The Tenth Doctor revisiting his previous companions at the end of "The End Of Time Pt. 2".
6) The Doctor returns to Bowie Base One to save the remaining crew members / Adelaide commits suicide back on earth at the end of "The Waters Of Mars".
Anyone agree/disagree with any of these?

I love in The Big Bang 2 when the stone Dalek's systems are restoring and River Song threatens it (him.. IDK. Daleks confuse me) and it says she will show mercy because she's a companion of the Doctor and she tells it her name and to check it's records again and then it starts begging for mercy. It's just so badass. It's another reason I love River Song so much. Below is a video clip with that scene. I squee every time I watch it. I can't wait for my mom to see that part.
XD The next scene is awesome, too. I just love how when Amy asks what happened to the Dalek and she replies "It died" and just keeps walking. Total BAMF. River Song is the HBIC. Definitely a woman to be feared and respect. In either order. Definitely the hero of her own story and not just the Doctor's companion. I love it. And I love her. I love her so much, I'm going to give her her own tag. I'm so glad Alex Kingston plays her. I couldn't imagine anyone else as River Song.
